Representative Experience
- Bob was a global leader for a team of 15 internal supply chain management client service directors located throughout the U.S., Europe, and China. He provided thought leadership to both the internal resources team in these geographical areas as well as their clients. He was also responsible for both top line and bottom line growth of the supply chain practice area. The results included being the fastest growing internal service line based on year over year percentage increase in revenue with an annual net profitability of 17%.
- Bob developed and maintained sourcing vision, processes, and organization for selecting, managing, and developing the enterprise’s strategic suppliers supporting operations, maintenance, and capital projects. He was responsible for establishing global contract management templates to include standardizing terms and conditions. He expanded supply chain management responsibility to include services spend in addition to tangible goods. Bob was also responsible for commodity areas that included tubular goods, engineered equipment, MRO, safety, down-hole services, and field services. He provided supply chain managerial oversight for key offshore Gulf of Mexico platform capital projects
- Responsible for centralizing and moving procurement activities of two major pipeline subsidiaries (Colorado Interstate Gas-Colorado Springs, and ANR Pipeline-Detroit) to Houston headquarters. He established standardized procurement and materials management policies and procedures. He also managed a group of 10 procurement professionals with responsibility for the procurement and contracting of pipeline commodities and services to include line pipe, engineered equipment, MRO, Safety, construction services, capital project activities, and other commodities and services necessary to constructing and maintaining pipeline operations. He also worked closely with field and operation groups to ensure that procurement activities provided value and policies and procedures were clearly defined.
- On two separate occasions, Bob was responsible for starting grass roots procurement and materials management functions. His early wins included consolidation of inventory accounts and items that were successfully deployed as inventory assets to fulfill requisition for field requirements. He developed sourcing agreements with key suppliers and established policies and procedures for procurement and materials management activities.
- He managed a group of 5 procurement professionals with responsibility for the procurement and contracting of E&P commodities and services for the company’s onshore U.S. and international activities. Responsibilities included establishing master service agreements and providing controls for ensuring insurance requirements from supply base and procurement activities for international operations.
- He was responsible for starting grass roots procurement and materials management function for the exploration and production group. He established policies, procedures, and a materials management asset function as well as revamped their almost non-existent material transfer process. Bob also established supply base agreements for key commodity groups.
